During an air show off of Burke Lakefront Airport on September 8, 1981 an Air Force Thunderbird crashed into Lake Erie. Port & Harbor Units were called in to organize the search and rescue of the plane and crew. The recovered black box and collection of photos are still on display in the Cleveland Police Museum in the Ports & Harbors Exhibit. |
