CLEVELAND STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT THE ROAR’ en TWENTIES

Students from Cleveland area schools enrolled in the Summer Camp at the Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC) came to the Cleveland Police Museum to learn about how the technology revolution of the 1920’s effected policing. About 90 students participated in last year’s GLSC summer camp program which ran throughout July. The students were divided into teams and Police Museum staff members led each team to a different exhibit where one of the following four themes were illustrated: The First Police Radio; Prohibition & Bootlegging; Inventor Garrett Morgan and the First Traffic Light; and The Detective Bureau of Crimes. Using the artifacts and documents displayed as well as materials from the archives, each team explored and discussed their theme. When the teams came back together, each team led the other teams to their exhibit and shared what they had learned during their exploratory session.
